Watches

This is totally off topic in every way, but you know what I’ve been eye balling for awhile now? Watches. On a wedding day it is so important that I stay on time. I usually use my phone, but I would really love a pretty watch. Okay, I use weddings as an excuse, but a good watch is always nice to have! I’ve had the same watch since tenth-grade and I think it is time to spice it up a bit!

I’ve been looking for a watch for a little over a year now and I just can’t make up my mind! I feel like it is such a big commitment. I’m not the kind of girl to oogle over shoes or purses so it seems a bit strange to me that I’ve been thinking about watches. Maybe it is the practicality that I am drawn to. Who knows, whatever it is I will eventually make up my mind, but until then here are a few of my favorites! What do you think? Any recommendations?!?!

I LOVE my MK watch! Best gift Wes Collins could have ever given me. I would say this though: When leather ages/gets a little scratched it looks FAR better in my mind then when these full metal watches get scratched. And, a leather strap can always be replaced :) Just my opinion.

I’m obsessed with my MK watch. I have #4 in silver. The day after Thanksgiving last year, I bought a gold one and it’s a bit chunkier. They are def an investment. I wear watches everyday so I def knew I would get my monies worth. When I bought my gold watch, I had a hard time trying to decide b/w that one and a leather one. So my pick in this line up is #3! :)

While I love watch #3, I’d pick watch #2 mostly because I couldn’t deal with a solid white gold wedding ring next to a solid yellow gold watch. They don’t match! But watch number two would make it okay to mix and match golds. :)

I love this post! You are so right! I personally love my fossil Dean Chronograph Leather Watch but it is rather bulky guys watch :) Of the ones posted here – I love the brown leather MK one too!

Michael Kors – Brown Leather Strap hands down :)

I’ve been looking at watches for AGES for the same reason! And by ages, I mean 2 years… I keep going to Target telling myself I don’t need anything fancy, just functional, but can’t seem to take the plunge on a $20 watch! Maybe it’s my subconscious telling me this is more of an investment than I want to admit :-)
I think the 2nd from the right is my favorite one above!

You are reading my mind!!! I’ve been looking for a wedding watch too…but I think I’m getting a cheap rose gold one from Target:)

Picking the Perfect Location to Put on Your Wedding Dress

I’ve asked people to do some weird things since I’ve become a wedding photographer. Not anything too crazy, I promise! Just simple little things that I know will produce better images. I used to get really nervous about asking a bride to do something a little differently then they had originally planned. Seems silly, right? I don’t know why, maybe it was because I didn’t have enough confidence in myself, maybe I was worried they would tell me no. Whatever the reason, it was silly. I finally realized it was okay to ask people to switch it up a bit! Brides want that input!

The prettiest places to get ready in are always the areas with the most natural light, which is kind of ironic since most bridal chambers don’t have a single window. I mean I get the practicality of it, but natural light is just so pretty! To all of the brides out there this is a good thing to keep in mind when you are deciding where you would like to get ready for the day! A place that is full of natural light with no clutter makes for the ideal space to put on your gorgeous wedding gown! Thankfully I’ve been blessed with some of the sweetest brides who trusted me completely when I asked them to get dressed in a new location.

Like the time I asked Amber to get dressed in the Country Club dining room…

Or when Rebekah got dressed in the church hallway…

Blythe got dressed in the entrance area of her reception location and I loved her getting ready photos!

Okay, Lindsay and Rachel got ready in a bedroom which is pretty normal, but I had to include them because they are just so pretty!

St. Augustine Wedding | Mary-Kate & Nick

I’ve been looking forward to Mary-Kate and Nick’s wedding for awhile now. I still remember when MK called me and we started chatting about the details. She described their day as “Ethereal” and I must say, she nailed it! MK is one of the classiest girls that I have ever met, when I found out that she and Nick were dating I thought to myself how great a match they truly are.  They’re  just one of those couples that make your heart happy and you know they are meant to be.

As soon as MK put on her final details we were off to the School for the Deaf and Blind for their first look. Nick works at the school and I love that they incorporated a venue that meant so much to them. On the front lawn there is a gorgeous row of Palm and Oak trees and it made for the PERFECT backdrop. Everything about their day flowed perfectly together and before we knew it it was time for the ceremony. It was one of the most emotional ceremonies in the best way possible, happy tears were flowing!

Mary-Kate and Nick thank you so much for including me in your special day! It was such an honor to meet all of your friends and family and I am so excited for everything that is ahead of you two! Have a fun in Cancun!!!

Those Blue Eyes… so gorgeous!

Nick and Mary-Kate gave each other the sweetest gifts

A big thanks to Rachel for grabbing this shot, I love it!!!

Okay, jumping shots aren’t exactly my normal type of photo, but with this crowd I couldn’t resist!
