August 15, 2011 I wrote my very first blog post and I was terrified! I didn’t think that my work was good enough, that I had a voice or even a story. Why would anyone read anything that I had to say? If you’ve started a blog of your own I’m sure you know exactly what I am talking about. Slowly but surely I got up the nerve to write and I’ve started to attract brides that are more and more like me.
For the past year and a half I have done my best to write everyday and it has changed my business tremendously. I went from meeting with couples in Starbucks who rarely booked me to booking almost all of my couples online. Why? Because they have an online reference of who I am and the work that I create. Anyone that reads my blog gets a little sneak peek into my life and can stay up to date with my current work. Sure it’s hard sometimes and there are days when I don’t want to write, but I know that someone out there is reading it.
I know that blogging isn’t for everyone, but if it is something that you want to do I encourage you to bite the bullet and just start. So many people say they will start when they get their blog to look exactly how they would like, well guess what? I’m not a huge fan of my blog layout, but I am thankful to have a tool that I can connect with others through. I recently found this quote and I thought that it was so appropriate in so many areas of life/business.
“If you really want to do something, no one can stop you. But if you really don’t want to do something, no one can help you.”

I completely understand and could not agree MORE! Putting yourself out there for the entire world to see can be terrifying. On the same note, people want to connect. They want to know that their photographer is like a friend; someone they can trust to ‘take care of them’ on their special day. You definitely are someone that I would consider a friend. Great post!
